AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) – The hit show Shadow Chasers is back in Sumter County looking into ghosts and paranormal activity at the historic Americus Windsor Hotel.

The Americus Windsor Hotel is a staple in the community. Many have seen things, but few have yet to confirm. One local paranormal team is taking on the challenge of finding the meaning behind spirits that are alive or dead.

ā€œWe were called by the person here at the Windsor, and we were asked to come back up and do another investigation because they had different things that had been happening,ā€ said Sarah White, co-owner and investigator at Shadow Chasers.

One prominent name in Windsor’s history is Emily Lester Windsor. One housekeeper tells me that she often feels Emily’s spirit.

ā€œWell, back in October of last year, I was vacuuming by 401, and I heard the voice of a little girl. I thought it was my coworkers calling my name, but it wasn’t them. The little girl was Emily. She was the daughter of the former housekeeper who worked in the 1920s,ā€ said Michelle Maness, houseman.

Shadow Chasers are now collecting evidence to prepare for the first season. Part of their research is using technology to call commands to the spirits.

ā€œWe asked her to show herself, and she appeared at the top of the stairs in a long black dress,ā€ said Austin Lee, a historian, intuitive, and technician for Shadow Chasers.
